Chapter 7
Tipton Sanders
âTipton, bring my son home today. My mom wants to spend time with her grandson,â Shae said through the speaker of my phone.
âShae, itâs six oâclock in the morning. When I wake Trent up, itâs gone be to take him to daycare. Itâs been weeks since I heard from you. You not getting my son back until we have a conversation about how shit needs to change at your crib.â
âDonât worry about how I run things at my house, nigga. Just know my son is safe.â
Sitting up, I had to remind myself of who it was I was dealing with. It was too early, and Shae didnât want shit but to get a reaction out of me.
âListen, Iâm not about to sit on the phone and argue with you like a hoe. When it comes to my son, everything is my fuckinâ business. Under my roof or not, Iâm responsible for his fuckinâ life. Clearly, yoâ ass donât know shit about parenting because you surely havenât been one. Get the fuck off my phone and donât call me this early no more, or your ass will be blocked. I donât like to repeat myself, but like I said, Iâm not bringing Trent nowhere until we talk,â I spat before ending the call.
Reaching to put my phone back on the nightstand, I was met with curious eyes when I turned back around.
âGood morning, beautiful. Iâm sorry if I woke you up,â I expressed genuinely.
Instead of replying verbally, Honor traced her finger over the tattoo that was located on my left chest.
âI canât believe you never got this removed or covered up.â
âNever thought about it, baby doll. Despite how mad and hurt I was, my feelings for you never dissipated.â
âSo, none of your exes had a problem with it?â
âI only have one ex, Honor. I wonât lie and say having your name tatted didnât garner any arguments because it did, but I never took it seriously. Shae knew I loved you long before her and I started getting serious.â
Looking up at me with furrowed brows, Honor pulled her hand away before speaking.
âReally?â She quizzed.
âYes. The shit wasnât a secret. Especially when it came to women.â
âIf we were to get back together, would Shae be a problem? I understand thatâs Trentâs mother, but I donât know how I feel about waking up to my man arguing with another woman.â
âShe wouldnât be a problem to you. Our shit is rocky right now, but Iâm actively trying to get everything straightened out. Besides being around Trent, you and Shae donât have anything to do with each other. Itâll stay that way,â I expressed.
Shae was a pain in the ass, but Honor would never have to worry about that. Iâve come a long way from letting Shae fuck up my mood. On the same token, I could understand where Honor was coming from. Females were catty, so it wouldnât surprise me at all if Shae ever tried to get flip at the mouth with her, but I would nip that shit in the bud as soon as it happened.
